A Scottish Government Minister Visits Angus Carers to Discuss Short Breaks

Monday 06th May 2019

On Friday 3 May 2019, we were visited by Joe Fitzpatrick, the Minister for Health, Sport & Wellbeing, and colleagues from Shared Care Scotland, who administer Short Break funding programmes.

They came to meet staff who are delivering Short Break Programmes (Better Breaks, Respitality and Time to Live), and to meet carers who have had a break from caring, or a break from their routine with the person that they care for through these programmes.

They discussed with the Minister that getting physical and emotional time away from caring is at the centre of them being able to continue with the care and support that they give to their families.
