The Scottish Budget 2020-21

The Scottish Budget was laid before Parliament on 6th February 2020 and can be downloaded from the Scottish Government’s website at

The Budget contains information about funding for carers, including social security benefits for carers and funding for implementation of the Carers Act.

For 2020/21, the Scottish Government has announced an additional £11.6m for implementation of the Carers Act. The relevant section is on Page 74 of the budget paper.

It has been confirmed with the Carers Policy Unit at the Scottish Government that this is in addition to the baseline funding received this year to implement the Carers Act of £27.9m, bringing the total funding allocation for 2020/21 to £39.5m.
